Yoga With Eliana
My dedication to yoga has deepened over the years, which led me to embark on my 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training with Yogasara in Sept 2021. In addition to my yoga certifications, I’ve completed the Trauma-Informed Yoga Training with Bristol Yoga Roots Project, the Soma Mystica Somatics Foundations Course, The Art of Adjustments under Chlow Knowlden, an Introduction to Ayurvedic Yoga Massage training with the AYM Institute, Applied Polyvagal Theory in Yoga with Dr. Ariele Schwartz, and Healing with the Breath, Bandhas, and the Vagus Nerve Course with Laura Gilmore of the Bristol School of Yoga.
I am passionate about fostering inclusive, welcoming spaces where yoga is accessible to everyone. My classes are dynamic and fun, balancing playful flows and restorative practices that encourage relaxation and rest.
My teaching is deeply influenced by the intersection of yoga, somatics, and the nervous system. By integrating contemporary science with the ancient wisdom of yoga, I believe we can forge deeper connections with ourselves, support personal healing, and cultivate healthier relationships with others and the world around us. My classes empower students to explore their unique path to well-being, focusing on self-healing and inner transformation.
My journey into yoga began during my demanding career as an architect. Searching for a way to manage the stress and anxiety that came with the job, I found solace in yoga’s breathwork and mindful movement practices, which had a profound impact on my well-being. However, when I first started, I felt overwhelmed by the wide variety of classes, teachers, and styles on offer. Some fast-paced classes left me feeling out of place, especially when surrounded by more experienced students with greater flexibility. It wasn’t until I found the right classes that I felt a sense of relief and joy, but it took time and patience.
As my practice deepened, so did my curiosity to learn more about yoga beyond an hour's class after a busy day. This led me to Yogasara's 250-hour Yoga Teacher Training, which I completed under Sarah Harlow and Sam Burkey from Mar 2020 to Jul 2021.
Once qualified, my earlier experiences inspired me to create the kind of space I felt was missing when I first started practicing. As a yoga teacher, I aim to offer truly accessible classes for everyone—spaces where everyone is welcome, regardless of age, ability, sexual orientation, race, or body type or anything else! My classes focus on building confidence in a supportive studio environment, breaking down key yogic teachings in a playful and approachable way, and helping students lay the foundations for a well-rounded practice.
