About This Course
This Yoga For Beginners 4-Week Course is specifically crafted to provide a space where everyone is welcome to begin their regular yoga practice. It is also a great place if you have experience and want to bring your practice back to basics, learning more about breath work and posture alignment.
The aim of this course is to build up the foundations of a rounded yoga practice over 4 weeks so that you can gain confidence in a studio environment with the basics of breath-led, mindful movement under your belt. To bring a sense of rest and rejuvenation as well as building strength and flexibility.

Timings
Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes before the start of the class so that I can show you around and get everyone settled in.
What to expect
We will come together for an hour each week where we'll spend time working with key yogic practices including breath-work, postures and a short guided meditation, breaking each down to really begin to unfold key yogic principles and teachings.
Each week will be a progression from the last, exploring a foundational series of postures and practices. By the 4th session, we will bring everything together in a flowing sequence of postures known as a sun salutation.
We work at a gentle pace, but with opportunities to challenge yourself further if you so wish, in order to increase strength and flexibility, but all the while keeping our centre of gravity low to the earth, with many points of contact, in order to stay grounded and stable.
Cost
I believe that everyone should have access to yoga, no matter their income or background, so I offer different payment options. No matter how much you pay, you'll get the same course as everybody else. See payment options below:

Cancellation Policy
The deposit is non-refundable. Refunds are available if you can fill your space before the course start date.
What to bring
All yoga mats and equipment are provided at the studio. Just wear something comfy that you can move freely in and feel free to bring a bottle of water.

Directions
Bristol School of Yoga, Studio 16 is located on Backfields Lane, a small cobbled dead-ended street, the entrance to which is opposite Lakota nightclub.
There are 2 studios - Studio 16 and Studio 19, which are directly opposite one another.
Studio 16 has an illuminated ‘YOGA’ sign on the external wall, Studio 19 is opposite with wooden shutters between units 17 and 21.
Please make your way straight to studio 16 and ensure you arrive around 10 minutes before the start of the class.
Parking
There is metered parking on Upper York Street and Wilder Street (view map) with a 2 hour maximum stay, charges apply Monday - Saturday 8am - Midnight (cheaper after 18.00). Please do not park in the spaces along Backfields Lane as unauthorised vehicles are often fined.
Outside the hours of 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday you are free to park in St. Pauls permit holders parking without having to display a permit.
Alternatively, the nearest car park to BSY that has no limit on the time you can stay is St James Barton, approximately 5 minutes walk from the school.
There are also some great mobile apps such as Just Park and Your Parking Space for reserving parking spaces ahead of time that are nearby the studio.
PLEASE NOTE: Bristol now has a Clean Air Zone in the city centre. The studio is located just outside of the zone, but please check your route and vehicle exemption before travelling.
Requirements
These classes are for everyone! No matter your age, flexibility range, experience level, or anything else. The only physical requirement is that you are able to get up and down off the floor with relative ease, if not, a specific chair yoga course might be a better fit for you. If you're unsure, please get in touch to chat through any concerns you might have.
